The Bible Church Has a New Name
I have decided to change the name of this website to "The Bible Church Online" in order to give it a more accurate description. A church, by definition, is a gathering of believers. This usually refers to a local congregation where the believers gather together in some location, usually a church building, for the purpose of worshipping God in the fellowship of other believers. It includes not only worship, but praise, singing, prayer, and preaching. An online site cannot meet the requirements of a true local church. But an entity such as The Bible Church Online does have an assembly of sorts. Many folks visit the site at the same time. Though it is not a local gathering of believers, it is a gathering of believers to study the Word. Since that is true, I have decided to leave the word, "church" in the title. To distinguish it from local congregations with "The Bible Church" in their names (for example, "The Bible Church of Anytown, USA"), I have added the word, "Online" to the title. From this day forward, this site will be known as The Bible Church Online. The abbreviation "TBC" will still be used as will the new abbreviation, "TBCO."
