Welcome to Pleasant Home Baptist Church

You are welcome Pleasant Home Baptist Church. Located in the Eastern Part of Santa Rosa County within the Blackwater River State Forest, it is a country church with a country church experience. Juniper and Sweetwater Creeks run nearby. The outstanding beauty of the area and its serene quietness make it a pleasant home for the worship of our Savior, hence its name. It is away from the "hustle and bustle" of the crowded thoroughfares, and is nestled among pine, dogwood, and other forest growth. An occasional deer trots by. Birdsong abounds. Come visit us!

At Pleasant Home Baptist Church we do not stand on ceremony.

COME RIGHT IN THE FRONT DOORS AND SIT ANYWHERE-WE WANT YOU TO BE RELAXED AND COMFORTABLE.

As Southern Baptists We Have The Following Beliefs:

The Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God and is trustworthy and true and is a testimony to Christ.

There is one and only one living and true God Who is all-powerful and all knowing. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Jesus is the Son of God, the second person of the trinity; He was born of a woman and is both human and divine-the God-Man. He was sinless but died a sinner's death on the cross as a substitute for us. Our belief in Him brings God's forgiveness of our sins and brings us eternal life.

No man is worthy of salvation and therefore cannot achieve it on his own. Men and women need a Savior to provide salvation. All men and women are sinners and have no chance of Salvation except by believing in Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The Church is the Body of Christ and includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation.

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and also symbolizing the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

We worship on Sunday, the first day of the week, the Lord's Day, the day of the resurrection of Christ.

We believe in the priesthood of believers, which reveals the special position and privileges believers have before God. He has chosen them as his servants who are loved by Him and special to Him. As priests of God believers serve Him in praise, worship and sacrifice. As priests, all believers have direct access to God through prayer. God reveals His Word directly to them. These acts honor God for His grace to believers and are a testimony and witness to others, allowing them to experience God's grace for themselves.

A note from the pastor:

The Baptist Faith And Message says: "God is the source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual; all that we have and are we owe to Him. Christians have a spiritual debtorship to the whole world, a holy trusteeship in the gospel, and a binding stewardship in their possessions. They are therefore under obligation to serve Him with their time, talents, and material possessions; and should recognize all these as entrusted to them to use for the glory of God and for helping others. According to the Scriptures, Christians should contribute of their means cheerfully, regularly, systematically, proportionately, and liberally for the advancement of the Redeemer's cause on earth."

This does not refer only to money. It refers to serving God in all of our capacity. God has given each and everyone of us unique and special gifts. He wants us to exercise those gifts. In order to serve God as He wishes, we need to be involved with a local body of believers-a local church. If you are a Christian and you do not meet regularly with a local fellowship of believers, you are not in the will of God. He specifically tells us in His Word,

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."

-Hebrews 10:23-25

If you are a believer, you need to be active in church...the Bible says so. You should be in church; any Bible-believing church will do, and we invite you to join us at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in your service to God.

-Brother Mark
