a	-	Aleph	' (unappreciable)	Open mouth soft puff of air. Usually takes on sound of next letter. Usually becomes a vowel sound.

There were no vowel points in Hebrew when the Scripture was written; they were added in the seventh century AD. There are sites available online that teach the vowel points. It is more important to learn the consonants first.
