The Bible Church is an on-line church dedicated to the expository teaching of God's Word. This is the best way to a more complete understanding of the Word. We at The Bible Church are not evangelists. The Bible Church is intended primarily for growing Christians, that is, those who are true believers in Jesus the Christ. Non-believers are welcome to study with us, and even though we do not proselytize, unbelievers may become believers just by studying the Word of God. The main goal of The Bible Church is to help Christians (believers in Christ) to mature in God's Word.
To mature in God's Word means to study His Word thoroughly. This includes the exposition of the scripture and verse by verse study. Exposition of the scriptures means to study verse by verse and to take into consideration all the variables and parameters of the scripture into consideration. This involves the context, the subject matter, the original languages, and the depths of what God wrote in His Word. That is what we try to do at The Bible Church.
The single, overriding subject of the entire Bible is Jesus the Christ. Jesus is evident from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. He is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and Omega, the Aleph and Tav. God, the Father, has provided sinful mankind with an opportunity to receive salvation. That salvation can ONLY come through the shedding of the innocent and perfect blood of the man, Jesus the Christ. The whole Bible is concerned throughout with that one purpose, that is, the salvation of mankind. The Bible gives us exhaustive "ensamples" or examples of this purpose. Every story in the Old Testament is an example of Jesus Christ and his atoning work for our salvation.
To repeat. The Bible Church does not evangelize or proselytize. It simply tells about Jesus the Christ by teaching the Word of God in depth.
At the Bible Church, God's Word is the authority and spiritual maturity is the object. Each Bible Study or Topical Study is based on the expository teaching of God's Word, chapter and verse. We are interested in what GOD says, not what the traditions of men and/or churches teach.
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
(2 Tim 2:15)Here is what the Lord Jesus says about the traditions of men:
Mark 7:5-9 (KJV): (5) Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
(6) He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. (7) Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. [Isaiah 29:13] (8) For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. (9) And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.Here is what Paul says about the traditions of men:
Colossians 2:8 (KJV): Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
The Bible Church is a non-denominational, Bible believing Christian church. We believe in salvation by faith and forgiveness upon repentance and that God's Word is true and without error.
